We offer free, pro bono legal services to the business owners and people of Lahaina, Kula, and other fire-damaged areas of West Maui to help them get back on their feet after the destruction caused by the wildfires that occurred on August 8, 2023.
Mission Statement
“The mission of Lawyers for Lahaina is to help the people of West Maui recover and get back on their feet so that they can continue or restart their lives and businesses and find gainful employment that will enable them to stay in West Maui.”
About Us
Lawyers for Lahaina (“LFL”) is a program of the Business Law Corps, a tax-exempt, Hawaii nonprofit corporation.
Our participating attorneys include business and transactional, real estate, banking, estate planning, and bankruptcy lawyers who practice in the State of Hawaii (including Maui), and from other parts of the country who have a connection to Hawaii.
Our Services
We are building LFL to last, from our leadership team, to our lawyers, to our technology. We are planning to be providing services for years to come, so long as West Maui is rebuilding.
Here are some of the services we are offering or plan to offer in the near future:
- Lawyer Hotline where West Maui people can call with legal questions.
- Individual Consultations, online and in person.
- Seminars and Webinars on topics of interest.
- Pro Bono Legal Representation for people who need formal representation.

Geographic Scope
Although our name is “Lawyers for Lahaina” we offer services to those outside Lahaina who were impacted by the wildfires. Our services are available to anyone impacted by the wildfires, whether or not located in West Maui or nearby communities.
Collaborations
We know what we don’t know. If you contact us and we are not qualified to help you, we will strive to refer you to the resources you need. We are working on creating collaborations with Maui and other organizations and initiatives that are helping the people of West Maui, with the goal of being able to make referrals as necessary and appropriate.
